Cutting Diameter and Features
The Hyundai HYM510SP offers excellent 4-in-1 cutting features.
- Cut and mulch – grass is cut into fine pieces and dispersed below the mower.
- Cut and collect – grass is cut and collected in the rear collection box.

A great feature of this mower is the mulching function – this is something that is missing from other brands of petrol mowers or is an optional extra. Not with this Hyundai HYM510SP, the mulching plug is supplied as standard with this mower. As you mow it cuts the lawn clippings into tiny pieces that are then spread back over the lawn adding moisture and nutrients to your grass improving your lawns condition and appearance whilst saving you time.

Height Adjustment
As with all mowers, you can adjust the cutting height according to your requirements and the growing season. This Hyundai HYM510SP has 6 height positions ranging from 25mm to 75mm and will be adequate for all circumstances.
On some mowers I have tested, I found the height adjustment to be difficult to adjust and you have to fight with it to get the height you want. Not with this Hyundai, the centrally located lever make it a breeze to adjust the height of this mower.
Self Propelled Drive
This Hyundai HYM510SP is the self propelled version of this mower that drive the larger rear wheels. This HYM510SP does NOT have the variable 4 speeds as does the HYM510SPE. What’s great about being self propelled is that you simply walk behind the mower guiding it into the direction you want, making light work of uneven surfaces and steep inclines.
I found the single speed to be more than adequate, however if you do want the additional speeds, then please see my review of the Hyundai HYM510SPE.
Not only does the HYM510SPE have the 4 speed settings, it also has the addition of electric push button start; this HYM510SP does NOT have these two features. These extras do come at an additional cost that some may not be able to justify.

Grass Box Capacity
The 70 Litre grass collector on this Hyundai HYM510SP Self Propelled Lawnmower features a high airflow plastic top with aerated fabric sides. The grass collection box comes with a level indicator so you are given plenty of notice when you need to empty the collector. Also it takes the guesswork out of the task and saves time.
Practicalities
Well what can I say about practicalities? Hyundai do this so well, they have packed this mower with features that are going to help you get the lawn cut as quickly and easily as possible. For starters this a 4 different cutting options including mulching, it has the fantastic Hyundai IC200V engine that performs so well and is easy to maintain and start, it can be folded down for reduced storage and transportation and so much more…
Hyundai have even included a convenient garden hose connector so you can easily clean the underside of the deck and blade by running the machine with the garden hose connected. Another feature to make your life easier.

The Hyundai HYM510SP self propelled lawn mower is provided with the ever popular Hyundai 196cc IC175VE engine that includes Smart Cut and Hyundai OHV 4-stroke 196cc Euro II. The engine is started via a recoil start as there is no electric start on this model.
This is a popular low emission and low maintenance engine that is used in many Hyundai petrol mowers and has proved to be a reliable and trustworthy choice.
The engine is low noise, easy starting, low fuel consumption which means that you are keeping the running costs low.
Roller (Stripes)
As with most petrol lawn mowers there is no rear roller included to provide you with the striped lawn finish.

Mulching
This Hyundai HYM510SP does come supplied with a mulching plug, providing an additional feature to the 4-in-1 cutting options.

Safety Features
Hyundai takes safety seriously, and this can be seen in the Hyundai HYM510SP. Features include a starter button that can be removed from the mower to ensure that the mower cannot be started, which makes it child proof. Also as mentioned above this mower has an Operator Presence Control system to ensure if you let go of the handle the engine will stop running. This is another great safety feature from Hyundai.
