Having recently tried out the younger brother of the LawnMaster CLMF4841E, I knew that it was likely that I would be just as impressed with this model. This is an excellent petrol alternative as it packs a lot of power and is perfect for larger gardens. What’s more, the LawnMaster 41cm cordless mower comes with a good range of features to ensure a neat finish and easy mowing. Having a rear lawn of around 500 square metres provided a good test for this product in terms of battery run-time, power, performance and cut quality. More on this later.
The LawnMaster 48v comes with a mulching blade and plug, rear discharge as well as a rear roller, so you have a great variety of options when it comes to how you mow your lawn. With a generous range of cutting heights between 22mm and 72mm, this simply adds to the versatility.

Power System & Battery
The LawnMaster CLMF4841E is a 48-volt cordless lawn mower but runs on two 24v batteries. This is great news because it means you can power share across the LawnMaster 24v range. Alright, there aren’t as many tools to share the batteries with compared to brands like Bosch and Makita, but there’s still hedge trimmers (LawnMaster 24v Cordless Hedge Trimmer CLHT2452D), grass trimmers and even leaf blowers, so you have everything you need to keep your lawn and garden looking neat and tidy.
Not only is the LawnMaster 41cm supplied with four 4.0Ah batteries, but you’ll also get two fast chargers. This means that you will always have power; one set of batteries on charge while the others are in use. However, it is a little disappointing that you don’t get a dual charger, but it’s not the end of the world by any means. The fact that you get all of this equipment makes the LawnMaster excellent value for money.
The batteries aren’t the only thing to get excited about, since the LawnMaster CLMF4841E also features iPower intelligent power control. This adjusts power to the motor according to the cutting conditions, giving it a boost when things get a little tougher and turning down the power when not required, making it easy to cut grass whilst preserving the run-time of the batteries. This is an excellent way to save energy.
Now, this 48v cordless mower is better suited for medium to larger lawns, but there are some smaller versions available. As I mentioned, I recently checked out the 24v 34cm model (LawnMaster CLMF2434G) which has many of the same features but is perfect for a smaller lawn. Alternatively, there is a 24v 37cm model (LawnMaster CLMF2437G) if you want something in between. Again, this has pretty much the same features, so you’re not missing out on anything.

Performance
I hope you can see from the video review above that this mower was simply a pleasure to use on my larger lawn. The cut quality was excellent, and you could hear the power stepping up when the going got tougher. The 41cm deck was wide enough to ensure that I was making good progress on each pass. I was interested to see how many of the four batteries were needed to cover the entire lawn of 500 metres squared. I was pleasantly surprised when I still had a little in reserve from just two of the four batteries.
Another feature that impressed me with the performance of this cordless mower was the way in which the rear roller striped the lawn. It is now 2 weeks since I cut the lawn and the stripes are still defined and looking fantastic.
Another characteristic that I loved about the LawnMaster is that it features grass combs which made cutting to the edge of the lawn a cinch. Moreover, this powerful machine is perfect as an alternative to petrol and you have the advantage that it doesn’t give off any nasty fumes or requires regular and costly maintenance.
Being a push mower, you will need to exert a little more strength than when using a self-propelled model. However, it’s pretty lightweight so not something that I found to be an issue even when the grass collection box was full. I used this cordless mower for the first Spring cut of the season, so the lawn was longer than usual and not in the best condition. The LawnMaster mower performed really well despite the conditions.

Deck & Blade
The LawnMaster CLMF4841E is kitted out with a 41cm cutting deck. That’s excellent for people with bigger gardens as it means you’ll cover more ground in one pass, reducing how long it takes to get the job done. Generally speaking, this mower is suitable for lawns up to 500 square metres, but as my test has confirmed I can’t see any issues with it dealing with even larger lawns, thanks for the additional 2 x 4.0Ah batteries provided.
The underside of the deck is smooth and obstacle free making it easy for cleaning once I had finished mowing the lawn.
Rear Roller
Again, I hope you can see from my video just how well this cordless LawnMaster CLMF4841E did at striping my lawn. The fitted rear roller is a single piece and runs almost the full width of the mower. As mentioned above, I still have beautifully manicured striped appearance two weeks after the initial cut.
On top of this, the rear roller provided for greater stability, which coupled with the larger rear wheels gave me a mower that was easy to manoeuvre.
All in all I was extremely impressed with the performance of the roller and its lasting results.
Handles
The padded handle of the LawnMaster 41cm folds down at two points; the lower part and the mid section. This makes it much more compact, so it’s perfect for storing in a crowded garden shed.
Moreover, you will notice that there is a full width single starter handle bar suitable for both left and right hand turns. This makes it much easier to move around corners without having to cut off the power.

Wheels
This LawnMaster has larger rear wheels. The benefit of this is that the lawn mower will be much more stable. This is great if the ground in your garden isn’t totally even, or if you have a number of slopes to tackle.
Height Adjustment
I’ve always talked about how important it is to have a good range of cutting heights as this allows you to mow your lawn according to the season and conditions. Therefore, I was delighted that the LawnMaster CLMF4841E comes with a selection of cutting heights between 22mm and 72mm. The lower one is extremely generous for a rotary mower and is something that would please those that like a low and neat cut to their lawn. The 72mm maximum cutting height is also generous and will allow you to cut a lawn that is overgrown and neglected. In summary, these cutting heights are certainly suitable for most domestic users.
Changing the height settings with the central lever was simple and easy. Once the height is chosen the mechanism ensures that it will not bounce out on the first bump you encounter, like some other mowers I have tested.
Grass Collection Bag
The LawnMaster cordless mower comes with a 42 litre grass collection bag. I should point out that I have seen larger grass bags on mowers of this size, but it’s certainly not too small. It’s made from fabric so that means better airflow which compacts the clippings so that you don’t have to empty as often. What’s more, the design means that the grass bag will fold down making it much easier to store, if you’re pushed for space.
The grass collection full flap, another great feature, worked extremely well during my test, so I always knew when it was time to empty.
The collection bag attaches securely with no risk of it bouncing off, even when the bag is full. The centrally positioned handle makes removing and emptying the bag easy and trouble free.

Cutting Options
Mulching
As well as everything else included with the LawnMaster CLMF4841E, you also get a mulching plug which works in combination with the mulching blade. This is a great alternative to the traditional cut and collect method of mowing and means that the clippings will be chopped up into fine pieces and delivered back to the lawn.
The benefit of this is that these clippings act as a natural fertiliser for your lawn. Not only is this organic and practical, but it’ll also save you money on buying expensive fertiliser products and grass disposal.
Cut & Collect
The grass collection on this mower is as expected. The cuttings are compacted well into the collection bag, thanks to the good circulation and sharp cutting blade.
Rear Discharge
The rear flap can be propped open on this cordless mower to allow an additional cutting option of rear discharge. This is not something I personally use, but it is good to know it is available if needed.
Safety Features
This LawnMaster comes with a safety key. This needs to be inserted before the mower will operate. This is a feature of most cordless lawn mowers, so it’s no surprise that it is included. This is great if you have kids and there’s a risk of an accidental start up.
As standard with all lawn mowers, there is also an Operator Presence Lever.

Practicalities
It goes without saying that any cordless lawn mower is practical, thanks to its freedom of movement and ability to be used in locations without a power source. LawnMaster have included every conceivable practical feature on this mower including vertical storage, folding handles, 3-in-1 cutting options, battery gauge on the handlebars, grass full flap indicator, generous range of cutting heights, rear roller, 4 batteries, 2 chargers and the list goes on.
Also, if you don’t want the hassle of complicated assembly then the LawnMaster is definitely worth considering. It’s superbly easy to put together as shown in my video, and requires no tools so you can get mowing out of the box much more quickly.

I would say that the LawnMaster 41cm cordless mower is an ideal choice for people who want something versatile, easy to use and is great value for money. It’s got more than enough features to allow you to create a professional finish without having to have the knowledge of a pro landscape gardener.
What’s more, if you are looking for something that makes an excellent alternative to petrol, then the LawnMaster is a worthwhile consideration. It’s got many of the same features, plus some, and is certainly powerful enough without the hassle of maintenance and fumes that you get from a petrol lawn mower.
It’s perfect for those of you with a slightly bigger garden up to around 450m² but there are smaller versions available, so you don’t need to miss out if you have a smaller lawn.
Conclusion
I like LawnMaster as a brand in general, so I already knew that I would be impressed by the LawnMaster CLMF4841E and it didn’t disappoint. This cordless lawn mower is versatile and reliable and delivers a cut that looks neat and professional, that I hope was clearly demonstrated in my video review.
There are a couple of drawbacks in that you don’t have too many power share options and you get two separate chargers as opposed to dual charger. But this is hardly a deal breaker and doesn’t in any way affect the functionality of this amazing, powerful, well-built cordless battery mower that is great value for money and comes highly recommended.
