Take, for example, the new Yard Force LM G37A which is new for 2021 and replaces the older version, the Yard Force LM G37/25.
This incredible piece of kit proves that cordless models are efficient, reliable and above all, deliver a cut that leaves your lawn looking immaculate. This mower is packed with exciting features and while it doesn’t have a wide range of mowing options, it does everything else with precision and effectiveness. I have to say that I was overjoyed with what this mower had to offer in terms of ease of use. It features a lightweight and easily manoeuvrable design as well as folding handles, a choice of cutting heights and a safety key; and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
But surely it cannot all be so good! Well, there are a few minor downsides to this mower that I will cover later in this review. Some of them may not impact you at all, and others are common to many cordless mower brands, but it’s good to be aware of them before you purchase, this will ensure the Yard Force LM G37A is the best cordless mower for you and your lawn.

Power System And Battery
You’ll likely be surprised at the power that this cordless mower wields. It boasts a 2.5 Ah 40v of power and a brushless motor that offers exceptional power and efficiency. If you have ever been concerned about whether a cordless mower would be up to the job, this could well be the tool to change your mind.
A brushless motor typically offers quieter operation, greater power and a significantly improved lifespan; all of which are evident in this model. With torque sense technology and smooth running, you needn’t worry that this wouldn’t be up to the challenge. What’s more, on a single charge, the battery is capable of running for up to 25 minutes and is compatible with other tools in the GR40v range, so if you already have a collection, you’ve now got another spare battery! Having additional batteries is also handy if one runs out of juice before you’re finished cutting; simply swap and go!
Please note that there is a limited range of GR40v tools currently available. As well as mowers, these tools include chainsaws, hedge trimmers and leaf blowers. Other brands do have a larger range of tools to share batteries, such as Bosch and Ryobi, for example.

As with some other brands, there is no battery level indicator either visible on the deck or on the handlebars. Whilst not a showstopper, it is a shame Yard Force did not include this. It does make it difficult to know how much charge and mow time is left, without having to stop the mower and press the button on the battery.
Performance
This is a snippy little lawn mower that is ideal for gardens up to 400m² so you’ve got plenty of room for movement. While the run time is 25 minutes, a well-maintained garden shouldn’t take too long to cut. What’s more, with power sharing, you needn’t ever run out of power, as I have already discussed.
One of the most notable performance aspects of this lawn mower is that it features grass combs. This means that it has the ability to cut right to the edge of the lawn, meaning that at the end of the mow, you won’t have a lot of trimming work to do.
The mower offers a smooth and relatively quiet performance thanks to the brushless motor and it is easy to manoeuvre.

Battery Charger
Not only does the Yard Force LM G37A come with a 40v 2.5Ah lithium ion battery, it also comes with a reliable and fast battery charger. I’m aware that there are many battery chargers out there that require significant charge times, but this one will get you mowing again in as little as 50 minutes.
Deck And Blade
With a robust 37cm rotary steel blade, this mower offers everything you need in durability. The deck is made from plastic which is relatively common in cordless mowers and while this is not as durable as steel, it should be ideal for most domestic situations. Furthermore, plastic is far more lightweight which adds to the easy movement of this mower and it won’t rust.
Remember that blades on any mower need to be checked for damage and need to be kept sharp for optimum performance. Blades can be sharpened, if needed, and are relatively cheap and easy to replace.
Cutting Diameter
The Yard Force LM G37A features a 37cm cutting width and as I mentioned earlier, this is a replacement for the older model, the Yard Force G37/25. However, if you don’t need something quite as large, there is a smaller model (YardForceLM G34A) which has a 34cm cutting width. You’ll still get all of the other features just without the bigger cutting diameter and a bigger grass collection bag, making it more suitable for smaller gardens.
Handles
Comfort is essential when mowing the lawn and no stone has been left unturned in terms of this during the creation of the Yard Force LM G37A. It boasts a fully padded handle which is perfect for a comfortable mow and when you’re done, the handle folds neatly away for easy and compact storage.
What’s more there is a right and left handed operator presence control lever for more convenient operation for all users.
Height Adjustment
Depending on the time of year, or your personal preference, you may wish to cut your lawn to different lengths. In this case, you’re going to need a generous selection of cutting heights and you are getting more than your money’s worth with this model. There are seven cutting heights in all, ranging between 25mm and 75mm making this a very versatile machine.
These cutting heights can be easily changed with a single lever; no messing around, just change the height and get on with mowing.
Roller
There was some suggestion in the media recently that striped lawns were out and rugged, natural lawns were the new trend. However, if you’re anything like me, a manicured lawn is always going to be in style and having a roller on your mower is essential. This Yard Force LM G37A comes with a rear roller which makes creating a striped lawn quick and simple.
Grass Collection Box
One of the things that quickly caught my eye about this lawn mower was the hybrid grass box. It holds up to 40 litres of grass clippings, even if it doesn’t look overly big. This unbulky design features a clever free flow air system which allows the clippings to be better compacted. In short, this means that you won’t be having to stop to empty every couple of minutes. I was amazed at how much you could fit in what looks like a relatively small box.
As well as improved air flow, hybrid grass boxes are great spaces savers as they fold flat to compliment the folding handles. Also, the solid plastic top reduces the amount of dust and debris thrown up into the operator’s face.
If that wasn’t enough, the grass box also features a handy full indicator that tells you when it’s time to stop and empty it out.
Practicalities
If you are looking for a lawn mower that is easy to use and completely hassle free, then I’d hasten to say that you might find it with this model. It has larger rear wheels, which gives it incredible stability while also being very easy to move around the lawn.
The Yard Force LM G 37A is beautifully easy to use with everything right at your fingers and a cinch to operate. There’s no fussing about, this is simply a tool that allows you to get outside, get the garden chores done and get on with your day.
Safety Features
Safety is imperative, especially if you have children around. This lawn mower comes with a safety key meaning that there is no chance of an accidental start up. Until the safety key is inserted, the mower will not start and this is an essential part of its safe use.

I’ve just purchased a Yard Force LM G37A and to my surprise, especially after reading your review, it has a mulching plug!
The part is listed in the parts list in the manual and the function is described in there too.
They must have updated this mower.
Other changes are the wheels are now all black with an orange logo centre, the lower handlebar section is black (not silver), and the grass box handle is black (not orange).
Going by the label it looks like it was built in November 2022 – “2022.11”.
It was purchased from Amazon – Price just dropped to £175 with GR40 2.5Ah battery and charger which makes it a bargain compared to the competition.
Their website still shows the old silver wheels and the manual download excludes the mulching plug and its operation.
I’ve only used it the once so far and the battery out performed its quoted 25 minute run time but it’s early days as it is new.
I’ve not tested the mulching feature yet – the long grass needed a long then short cut and it was still slightly damp.
Just thought I’d let you know what’s changed.
